How Can I Check If a Memory Slot Is Faulty? & Upgrade dimm slot not working Check the CPU socket as the newer CPUs the memory controller is in the CPU and if a pin is bent or missing it could make a slot not work 5 dimm slot not working First try spraying the RAM slot with electrical contact cleaner and try again Then try pushing on the 2nd RAM slot and then turn the laptop on,
